The Falcons announced Tuesday the defensive end will return to the team on a one-year deal.
According to NFL Network, the deal is worth $4 million.
Clayborn, 30, played for the Falcons from 2015-17 and was instrumental in taking the team to Super Bowl 51. During that three-year span, Clayborn posted 58 tackles, 18 tackles for a loss and 17 sacks.
He set a franchise record in 2017, recording six sacks against Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
Last year, he signed a two-year, $10 million contract with the Patriots, but was released this offseason after recording 11 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 14 games.
