Hasselbeck sent a simple tweet Wednesday morning that read, “Random drug testing.”

The Colts are tied with the Texans atop the AFC South at 6-5, due in large part to Hasselbeck’s performance while Andrew Luck has dealt with injuries and poor play throughout the season. And when a 40-year-old player is outplaying a 26-year-old former No. 1 overall pick, eyebrows apparently are raised in the NFL offices.

If Hasselbeck needs somebody to talk to about this random (yet flattering) request by the league, he can walk over to Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri’s locker.

Vinatieri, 42, was “randomly" selected for a drug test in January after banging through a 53-yard field goal in a playoff win over the Bengals.
