The Chiefs rolled into New Orleans and beat the Saints on Sunday while the Packers held off the Carolina Panthers on Saturday. Now, Kansas City (13-1) and Green Bay (11-3) lead their conferences with two games remaining in regular season.
The Cleveland Browns won their 10th game of the season on Sunday night, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers kept their playoff hopes intact with a comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons and the Seattle Seahawks held off a pesky Washington squad. The Dallas Cowboys, at 5-9 now, are still in contention for a playoff spot and the New England Patriots have been knocked from the playoffs for the first time since the 2008 season.
San Francisco, which won the NFC last season before losing in the Super Bowl, got eliminated from playoff contention on Sunday.
Then there are the New York Jets, who could cruise and lose their final three games and then choose quarterback Trevor Lawrence as the No. 1 overall pick next spring. The Jets may have messed that up by winning, 23-20, on Sunday against the Rams in Los Angeles. So, for now, the Jacksonville Jaguars would have the No. 1 overall pick. They, too, need a quarterback.
