It was one of several announced within an hour, including suspensions for Jets defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson, Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain and Chargers tight end Antonio Gates.

Jones, a 6-4, 285-pound Los Angeles native, was Green Bay’s first-round pick in 2013. The former UCLA standout has five sacks in 32 NFL games with three starts. He recorded his first career interception last year in a 20-3 win over Tampa Bay on Dec. 21. The 24-year-old also had a half sack during Green Bay’s playoff win over Dallas.
Josh Boyd, a third-year player out of Mississippi State, will likely replace Jones in the starting lineup for the season opener in Chicago.
