That has led to some disappointing straight-up results early, but at the same time, because of how tight some calls are, there has been more good fortune when navigating the spreads. Week 4 isn’t any easier; it offers a lot of slim lines but also features a few heavy favorites in lopsided matchups. Here’s trying to get better with our fearless forecasts, one pick at a time. Here’s how we see another full slate of 16 games playing out this week....

Only two Week 16 games opened with double digit point spreads. The Ravens are 10-point favorites over the Browns, and the Seahawks are 10-point favorites over the Cardinals. The rest of the schedule features a blend of toss-up games and matchups that exist not to impact the playoff picture, but to ruin our chances at a perfect week of picks. For example, the Texans, Steelers, Redskins, Dolphins and Cowboys were favored by a field goal or less against the Buccaneers, Jets, Giants, Bengals and Eagles, respectively....

The week starts with a rematch of last year’s NFC championship game between the Packers and 49ers, a key game for both teams in this year’s playoff race. The Sunday schedule features five matchups between teams with winning records, and all of those games have intrigue. The cross-conference matchups between, Chicago and Tennessee, Seattle and Buffalo and Miami and Arizona should be fun. Baltimore and Indianapolis meet in a battle of AFC contenders, and it builds up toward the Sunday Night Football rematch between New Orleans and Tampa Bay....

The lawsuit filed Wednesday alleges that the unnamed player, identified in legal documents as John Doe 1, and another man on the flight, identified as John Doe 2, both described as African American, said they made several complaints to United Airlines flight attendants about the unwanted sexual advances made toward them by a middle-aged caucasian woman. The unnamed player said the assault occurred on February 10 while he was a passenger on an overnight flight from Los Angeles to Newark, and was sitting on the same row as the woman, according to Bleacher Report’s Master Tesfatsion....

The statement reads as follows: As the last paragraph states, players must discuss whether to accept these terms. The NFL Players Association will discuss Friday whether the union will approve these terms, which have been negotiated over the past 10 months. The membership voted today to accept the negotiated terms on the principal elements of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Players Association would also need to vote to approve the same terms for there to be a new agreement....

The Chiefs and Saints already clinched playoff berths thanks to Week 13 results, but they can claim their respective division titles with additional outcomes in Week 14. The Steelers can also lay claim to the AFC North title or simply a playoff berth with a win and some help in Week 14. Elsewhere, both the Bills and Packers can lock up spots in the expanded 2020 postseason depending on how things play out in Week 14....

There are still two more weeks left in the 2021 NFL regular season, which has expanded to 17 games. The Dolphins did help their chances to make the AFC field, but there’s still work to be done. The Saints stumbled, but they can’t be ruled out in a tight NFC crowd. Wentz has already missed most of training camp and all of pre-season play due to surgery he had to undergo because of a foot injury. He was ready for Week 1 but struggled against the Seattle Seahawks. On Sunday afternoon, Wentz struggled again but this time apparently injured both ankles. On Monday morning, it was reported that the Colts believe he has sprained both ankles but will undergo more tests to identify the injuries....

All 272 games for the 2022 NFL schedule will be released on Thursday, May 12. As is custom, though, there will be leaks — and official announcements — leading up to the release this Thursday.
